4-year accounting degree (Business related field considered with appropriate experience)

10 years of steadily increasing finance/accounting experience in the manufacturing sector, including at least 5 years as a controller or manager

Most work is done in a typical office environment with little exposure to health or safety risks and a lot of time spent using computers.

For the purpose of using a computer keyboard and other office equipment, considerable hand, arm, and finger dexterity is required.

Occasional exposure to manufacturing environments may be necessary for the performance of this job, which calls for the use of personal protective equipment including safety glasses with side shields and required hearing protection.

Responsibilities

The Plant Controller is in charge of maintaining the accuracy of the plant's financial records and providing financial reports to the plant and divisional management.

analyzes variations and provides plant management with an explanation and action recommendations.

Plans and coordinates budgeting and forecasting operations in accordance with business rules and practices

To enhance the plant's performance, conduct cost and performance analysis, create standards, manage inventory accounting, and collaborate with cross-functional plant leadership.

performs internal audits and provides information to external auditors to monitor and confirm the financial situation and balance sheet.

provides departmental executives with proactive advice, interpretation, and education on difficult financial and operational issues needed to inform business choices.

makes ensuring that all accounting is done correctly and in accordance with IFRS, SOX compliance, and business policy.

oversees the creation of the daily and monthly profit and loss statement, the analysis of financial metrics, and other necessary performance papers, such as the monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

Make sure that plant month-end financials are accurate and closed on time, and collaborate closely with manufacturing operations for efficient analysis of output variances.

analyze and approve capital proposals, keep an eye on CIP expenditure, make sure projects are closed on schedule and accurately with capitalization of assets, and keep semi-annual equipment inventories

In order to ensure adequate absorption, manage the plant's inventory accounting, which includes developing standard costs with annual labor and overhead rate analyses.

Assume responsibility for the timely and proper completion of financial Business Planning forms by developing schedules, gathering, evaluating, and integrating financial data, and suggesting methods to achieve goals. Lead the plant's biannual financial planning process.

Co-Lead (With PC) physical inventory, recommending countermeasures and assisting with analysis of discrepancies at least twice year, more frequently as needed.

Participant in a cross-functional management team that monitors and upholds policies and procedures while reviewing outcomes and projections to optimize plant performance and provide financial guidance.

Manage and carry out J-SOX (Japanese SOX)-related financial and functional activities

support both internal and external audits conducted periodically and annually

Partner with members of cross-functional teams and shared services organizations at the corporate and business unit levels.
